I've been using TurboCNC off an on for a few years now and last night I ran into a problem with my gecko servo driver faulting out. I think the problem is that I was running a low feedrate, 2.25 IPM, and have a lot of backlash comp- ensation, .005", configured. I'm pretty sure that the drive was faulting when the X axis switched feed directions and TCNC would issue a bunch of pulses to take out the back- lash. I seem to recall that TCNC doesn't use any kind of an acceleration curve or anything for these moves.
So any way, do people feel that EMC2 does a good job of dealing with large amounts of backlash? Has anyone had a problem with drives faulting during backlash comp?
