Pardon my mac ignorance but did someone say there's a model with a pci slot, isa slot, or parallel port? Unless one of the three is available there is very little point to setting up RTAI because that would eliminate all supported control hardware. I understand someone might want EMC2 with no hardware support for preview/test run purposes; if so, using the pure-userland build (simulator) is clearly the way to go.
