There's a reason for this.  When a user fisrt fires up the 
board, it would have a RAFT of error messages, requiring a great 
deal of fooling around to cancel all the dialog boxes.
Ah, commented out lines for the opposite sense would be a good 
thing, though!  I'll do that.
