I have diligently searched for, but not found, any carbide inserts with the 
correct profiles for thread cutting, so I've had to custom grind my own from 
tools and boring bars with brazed inserts.  The problem is the included 
angle, its 15 degrees sharper than the available inserts.  MSC however does 
have a good selection of single toothed solid carbide boring bars.  Whether 
those would have a sharp enough tip for that fine a tpi thread I don't know.
Those fine, narrow angle tips are VERY easily chipped. HS steel might be a 
better choice if its swimming in cutting lube to keep the air away from the 
alu, which if allowed will dull the bits 50x faster due to the instant 
formation of the oxide film on the alu.

If there are such inserts available, can someone please post a link?
