Quote: I had been looking at
the HobbyCNC kit, but noticed in the archives and on the wiki that it
looks like some people have had issues with it.

The only issue I had with this board was the idle circuit controls. I
followed a guide on CNCzone for eliminating the timing circuit and wiring
the "switching" directly to one of the free pins. Its activated by the Amp
Enable function in StepConf. Now EMC handles the switching automatically
for me. The mod basically involves not installing 1 resistor and 1 capacitor
for each axis. Unfortunately, the boards seller only guarantees boards
built according to his design. Having said that - I am happy with mine
(hobby use).
