Internally, EMC's motion controller has separate inputs for + and -
limit switches.  If the + limit input is activated, EMC won't permit
further motion in the + direction, and the same for the - input.

If you have separate + and - limit switches, wired through separate
physical input pins and to the motion controller's inputs, then EMC will
do what you want.

If you are running both inputs in through the same parport (or other I/O
device) pin, then you have to connect both of the motion controller's
inputs to the same pin, and both will be activated when you are on
either limit.  In that case, you need to click on the "override limits"
button on the GUI.
