OK -- I'm glad it's running for you now. I'm not sure how to fix this problem. I *think* that I will make it not a fatal error to have Linux not detect an EPP port (but still be logged in the kernel messages). Every driver that uses EPP requires successful communication with the board at load time, so if EPP communication fails the user will still get a clear indication of the problem.
