The program can also run autotune procedures and graph the results, as well as let you view and alter the settings. I've done this on Yaskawa amps.
I suppose with canbus or some other control protocol, the NC control could change the parameters on the fly, but I suspect anything with +/- 10 V velocity commands, they are not doing that.
