Thanks for the suggestions! I think that this is the solution I will try to stick with. Partly because it already is part of Ubuntu, I can save time on installing it. And partly also because all the remaining suggestions seem to involve more of IT skills than I do, so I would need to do some extra reading and learning, although all that would be needed to achieve is connect to remote desktop and take a look at it and consult client, if I see something wrong there.
