note some browsers cache the dns, firefox being bad at that, so a ip
address move done correctly
is lost on firefox because its to lazy to go and check.

iirc there is some incantation to get firefox to clear its dns cache.

your dig is getting the right numbers

probably a poisoned cache somewhere that needs a clean
may just need to wait for the natural timeout of the dns data (ttl)

ping is sometimes ignored and not returned on busy servers

best is try traceroute {ipaddr}
