Another thing, this page:

has a C program that allows one to check or set the port mode to EPP or
Standard SPP. Setting a NetMos or Moschip card to EPP with this will
allow ECM2 to (sort of) use the port with FPGA signal generators, but
the port's firmware or hardware signal timing is messed up and will most
likely crash the system.
