Greetings;

I am about to make the last pass that will cut this brass encoder wheel
free of the sheet, its been a bitch, not sure if this hobby shop brass is
A340, at 10 thou deep and 7.5" feed, breaking the first bit was done on the
3rd time it entered the brass to start cutting the slot. So I cut the feed
to 4.5/2.25 and can't cut more than about 7 thou deep at a time else the
bit wibbles pretty obviously on descending on a 30 degree slant into the
end of the slot being cut.

What I have ATM looks like it is about 60-65% blocked, 35-40% open for slot
width vs web width between the slots.

These devices claim a 0.060" aperture, and these slots are perhaps 0.070"
wide, with a slot spacing of about .155", so I'm thinking I need more block
than open to get about a 50% duty cycle pulse out of it.

Am I in the ballpark at 60-65% blockage?, or do I need to fix the code for
a hair wider slot and rerun it before lowering it the last 7 thou for the
final cutout, at which point its too late to fix?

Thanks guys.

Cheers, Gene
