Well, yeah, but some people REALLY NEED to do it on the cheap.  But, a 
little
external hardware really opens up possibilities like pendants with MPGs, and
getting most finicky stuff done without using the keyboard, like the
touching off approach.  Didn't know what I was missing until I had one 
set up.
