Some older machines from the early 2000's had real problems with shared 
main/graphics
memory.  Newer models seem to have fixed that with dedicated graphics memory
or better memory controllers.

You may be able to turn off some acceleration options of the video 
driver using the
system/administration/display menu.  Or, it may require changing the 
video driver
that is in use.  Using a plain-vanilla driver may fix this problem, 
although the video
performance may not be as good, but plenty good enough for the Axis 3-D
display.  There should be some info on the Wiki about these issues.
