I overheard her on the phone several years ago, bragging to one of her girl friends about something I'd (I think I'd rigged a block & tackle or a cable hoist across a doorframe to pull a failed hot water heater up the basement steps) done & she finished up the subject with "after all, he is an engineer", forgetting that my formal education stopped in the middle of the 9th grade.
