I have the 30th* lathe Logan Actuator made. I don't have a full set of change gears for it, adding CNC or at least an electronic leadscrew could cost less than finding/buying/making a gear set. Motorizing the leadscrew would be as simple as mounting a stepper to the bench with a gear in mesh with the drive gear on the left end of the leadscrew. Could put it on a pivot or slide to engage/disengage. I should at least get the half nuts rebuilt. The babbitt bearings are in OK shape but I'd love to get them redone with bearing bronze. Yup, a Logan lathe with plain bearings - only available as the Montgomery Ward Standard Model. Seems to be extremely rare, haven't found mention of another one. Probably all went to scrap or converted to ball bearing headstocks after people abused the bearings to death. *Serial 1031P. P most likely for Plain bearings. Someone else owns #20, serial 1021. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Windows: Build for Windows Store. http://p.sf.net/sfu/windows-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
