My thinking about this is that, as with mayority of open source communitys the best thing you have, apart from what you guys mentioned, is that you learn how to do something, and you begin to realize how much things cost, no only in money value, but in another level.
Sometimes I see a piece of steel in the workshop and I say to myself, how many times we think to ourselves the importance of the steel in our lives?. This is an really dumb example, but I think it shows the point. Off course in the world as it exists today this is almost a nonsense reasoning, because everything has to be done in a quick way and you only have to function, no matter why. So, the way I think it, I've never learned so much C, linux, and digital electronics since I got involved with this marvelous piece of software. This is for me one of the most important things about it, that you are understanding how a complicated thing works, and I know I need to learn a lot more, but I think that if I didn't start to use LinuxCNC, I wouldn't start to learn all of these things I mentioned. And last but not least, family workshops like ours have to deal with a lot of troubles, and things like LinuxCNC help a lot, not only in the near future but also in the far future. I wish I could do a lot more for this community than I do, and I appreciate the good will all the people have in here, because you really helped, and keep helping a lot of people with this! Sorry for the long text, but I really like to express how I feel about it! Best regards from Argentina.
