I have a friend on the CoCo mailing list that has written, in rsbasic, using data statements, code to drive a home made milling machine with a dremel for a spindle. He has managed to cut out and build a 2 cylinder steam engine with it, out of brass plates stacked to get the cylinder length needed. With no network interface, it can't even do drip, but it would be ideal. On an .79mhz processor cycle of a CoCo1 or CoCo2, he is driving the stepper motors coils directly thru an interface he built. I can't begin to imagine how slow it is, but it works. So never say a machine is too small or slow when in the hands of a determined user who dreams in 6809 hex codes.
