While you are tweaking Axis... There is someone on the forums trying to keep a pendant and the Axis UI in agreement about what the current "active" jog axis is. http://www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/forum/24-hal-components/27061-showing-which-axis-is-selected?limitstart=0#39494 I think that this falls into the usual problem of it being easy for hardware to respond to the position of a physical switch, but less easy for a physical switch to respond to software. What I am wondering is if Axis could export a pin that, if set, selects that axis for jogging. I think it would need to default to a "magic number" and if actually driven to a different value then the on-screen buttons would have to become just indicators. The more I think about this, and how to make it usable, the less useful it appears ;-) Currently my Mill is set up with Axis and a touchscreen with a jogwheel. It has always been the intention to run with Touchy, but Axis is familiar and little more convenient for development work. I have a physical jogwheel, but select the active axis in the GUI, with Axis taking the place of the physical axis-select switch. Maybe there is some argument for the option to have the axis-select buttons in Axis as indicators rather than controls, but I am not sure that it is a strong argument, on reflection. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ October Webinars: Code for Performance Free Intel webinars can help you accelerate application performance.
