We run 14.04 LTS on quite a few machines here at work (mine included).
Heartbleed was fixed a few weeks ago, right after it was identified.  We,
at work (and me also at home) are very concerned about nasty things out in
the wild, since where I work is a military base, and the military's
computers are targeted quite heavily by the black hats.  The 14.04 LTS
release is stable, and is as up to date as any other safe, secure linux
distributions.
