If you scroll down to near the bottom there is a list of all the HAL
components, and links to their manpages.

That master page is two clicks from www.linuxcnc.org. Click
"Documentation" then "all documentation in html"

It's probably worth reading through every manpage. Some of the
components have uses other that what they were designed for.
