No. Large welders can deliver some current for 100% duty cycle. My Lincoln square wave TIG 300 can deliver something like 275 A at 100% duty cycle, and 350 A for 15 minutes, I think. Clamping to a rigid table and stitch welding are the most common tricks. Stitch welding is to make a number of short welds on a seam, rather than just plowing along in a straight line from one end to the other.
