That's correct.


I noticed this in your boot messages, i have no idea if it's related to 
your lockup:

Could you try booting with "acpi=off" on the kernel command line?

Also, if it takes a minute or so after starting linuxcnc before your 
computer locks up, try to save a dmesg trace after starting linuxcnc but 
before it locks up by running something like this:

dmesg > log.lockup; sync


We've had reports of one other system that failed with the new RTAI 
kernel, like yours it had an old AMD processor (a Sempron 2800+).  That 
was Dewey Garrett's machine.  We never got that system working with the 
new RTAI kernel, he finally replaced it with a modern motherboard that 
works fine.
