I was using the 5000 stuff where the probe results ares stored, and at the 
time some global named stuff and a few local named stuff, none of which I 
recall ATM as that was quite a bit of water gone downhill since.

You can check it your self, assign some values to named stuff, reboot, and 
using the mdi interface, Try (debug,shorthand var name= #<_name of var>)

The fact that it worked was pure serendipity, but I have never written 
something that depended on it.  That would be too much exercise from 
pushing my luck. ;-)
