Rick You need two Ethernet connections to get going. Secondly, check your firmware version of the 7i80. Also download the latest Mesaflash software form here http://www.github.com/micges/mesaflash. The version on the Mesanet website is outdated and does not talk to the 7i80 properly.
You are having the same problems that I had. It went away with the firmware update and fitting a second Ethernet connection. I got a cheap USB to Ethernet adapter. ------ Original Message ------ From: "Rick Lair" <r...@superiorroll.com> To: "Emc Users" <emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net> Sent: 2015-04-07 17:30:05 Subject: [Emc-users] 7i80 Setup ( Was PNCConf setup) >Hey Guys, > >I will start from the top on what I have done, > >I have Debian built from the boo-table USB from the website, then I >compiled using, > >cd ~ >sudo apt-get install git-core gitk git-gui >sudo apt-get build-dep linuxcnc >sudo apt-get install linux-image-3.2.0-4-rt-686-pae >sudo apt-get install libudev-dev >sudo apt-get install iptables-persistent >git clone git://git.linuxcnc.org/git/linuxcnc.git linuxcnc-dev >cd linuxcnc-dev >git pull >git checkout master >cd src >./autogen.sh >./configure --with-realtime=uspace >make >sudo make setuid > >After that is when I tried to load the firmware to the card, then I >tried to change the card IP address, both times I get the "No 7I80 >board >found" > >Then I found in the HM2_ETH manual the following entries, > >*Configure network with static address* >Add these lines to the file /etc/network/interfaces to configure eth1 >with a static address: > >auto eth1 >iface eth1 inet static > address 192.168.1.1 > >*Disable IPv6 on the dedicated interface* >By default, Linux may transmit IPv6 packets on all interfaces, even if >they are not explicitly configured with global IPv6 addresses.
