That looks as if it might be just what the Dr. Prescribed. In fact, all 3 axis's could benefit if I can hack up the interface code. There is a need to fine tune all 3 when the roundover is in use since the wood may have shrunk/warped, which results in an un-equal starting and finishing finger width. So while it saves me a ton of custom sanding overall, getting it positioned to the last couple thou means some way to measure a foot of wood to a couple thou's accuracy, and none of the usual tools are that good. It may not sound like much if the software is written for 11.25" wide wood, but as it dries and seasons, I might wind up with a 1/16" error or more. I measured one such piece yesterday, and found that according to the usual tape measure, it was now only 11 3/16" wide. My code auto-adjusts to try and equalize the finger widths when I change the overall width of the board, but since I'm making 3 of these, I can't just do it arbitrarily, I have to wait till I've done all the machineing for that box before I can adjust the software else the sides and the ends will not properly fit together at assembly time. So the last box will be machined using a board width of 11.200" as opposed to 11.250" when I started. I need a digital caliper that can measure a foot. But I've not seen one of those I can afford. I did have an 8" model, but it slid off the mill table catch pan and smashed the glass when it hit the floor. It wasn't long enough for this anyway. I bought a sturdy wood storage rack and put it up yesterday to get this stuff off the floor. I'd stood the pieces on end against a wall as I had cut it, but now I am finding water stains because it has rained, and the wall it was against allowed some rain to seep under it wetting the end of the board. So I have some stains to sand away as I apply the finish. Re-wetting and scrubbing firmly with a damp paper towel gets rid of most of it.
