Thats more promising then, I'll go see what amrecover can do yet this
afternoon. Humm, done from here over an ssh -Y pi@raspi login, this
machine won't talk to the raspi.

pi@raspberrypi:/ $ sudo amrecover -s coyote.coyote.den -t
coyote.coyote.den -d /amandatapes -C Daily
AMRECOVER Version 3.3.6. Contacting server on coyote.coyote.den ...
[request failed: EOF on read from coyote.coyote.den]

This is not something I have tried before. I did find an only_from line
in /etc/xinetd.d/amanda and added raspberrypi.coyote.den to that line,
and restarted /etc/init.d/xinetd but that made no diff. There ought to
be an amanda_client.conf somewhere on the pi specifying the security
protocol. bsdtcp is the current golden method. But I can't find that
file on the pi.

Later, after I do some more research. Found it in
the /etc/xinetd.d/amanda file as server_args=bsdtcp on both machines.

Time tp post to the amanda mailing list I guess. BBL.

Thanks Andy.
