More info than you probably want right now, but. At some point in the future you might want to alter fuses; Atmel bare chips ship using the onboard 8Mhz oscillator and divide the result by 8. If you want a chip to perform as it does on an arduino board with an external 16Mhz crystal you have to change fuses (and you can with Studio 7), but one fuse setting must not be changed since it will brick the chip. Its very stable. I run "Classic Shell" on all of my windows machines to make them all operate like Windows 7. I have to deal with Windows XP, 7, 8.1, and 10, often at the same time for my day job. Classic Shell keeps me sane. I would not waste my time with Vista. Its just too old.
