Yep, got the desktop back. Turned out I typed in what you listed "SwapAxis"
"1" was the problem. I went back in and Nano'd this line out and the
desktop came back with of course incorrect calibration. I have the file
where you say yours is and if I make changes to the numbers, I can see it
changes, the cursor is now close to where it is supposed to be but still
about an inch off to the left. Axis are no longer swapped also even without
the SwapAxis line. Guess it all has to do with the settings in the config
file.

I will play with the numbers a little more and then get some sleep, running
out of coffee anyway.

Thanks for your help, I will play some more and let you know how it goes.
The calibration values I get from the calibration software are totally
wrong but your numbers are much better (about 2 inches off but x and y are
correct) and I think I can figure it out from here maybe.
