I think I observed similar tool offset problems with different machines. I use master branch usually. Not so long ago, DIY mill with manual toolchanger. What I can remember is I set the tool (say #1) with M6T1G43 in MDI. Then touch off to the part. Then start the program with the same tool - and get the wrong offset, milling air. I also remember similar offset problem on a turret lathe. Never have time to get to the root of it though.
