I think the tied to servo-thread of the halscope, is causing it to lie to 
me. Because the pwmgens are running free, the lack of synch is creating 
some extra pulses at the on-off transitions.  Had to stop and think 
about that one.

But my spinbox for the motor speed needs a title, all I have is a box 
with the current number, with the updown at the right. No indication 
what it does if a stranger walks up to the machine. I suppose I'll have 
to put a text box above it, or maybe I can surround it with a 
labelframe? Sounds good anyway. ;-)
