It seems the iso didn't install build-essential, but wayland prevented me 
from running synaptic, so I had to use apt. Now lcnc runs normally. No 
complaints from it, but latency-test -p is double what the rpi4 is 
doing, 92 u-secs with one copy of glxgears running.  Slow display on 
this screen, much better on its own.

I glued a pair of 40 amp ssr's into its motor supply, and will have lcnc 
fully controlling the machine power in another day or so, hopefully of 
warmer weather.
