I agree 100%, the automatic locking on the screen blanker MUST be excised from the new ISO installs. It may be a good thing on an ordinary linux install, but has no business what so ever on a machine control! Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what I did to get rid of it. I do remember it was a pain to find the secret hidden place it was and it took me half a day to find it.

Graphical install failed, couldn't find a net driver, but the other text install sailed right thru it. The pi's blanker is acting different, but its not logging me out, but it may stop any shells I walk away from, they are often, but not always, gone when it unblanks, but its not powering down a decade newer monitor either. Leaves it blanked, but a dim grey that goes black when the mouse is touched, and the normal screen background shows up half a sec later. HDMI driven.
