Greetings all;

I have chased down the spindles noise and poor poor rigid threading.

I have an encoder with a weakening ir led, and each differential channel
is skipping an edge at random.

So I am hand tapping until another encoder arrives from the other side of
the big pond. A month minimum. Grrrrr.

Question for Peter:

With the servo repeat rate of 1khz, and the high speed I am spinning this
encoder, up to 15k or so is there any chance I could get an advanced
warning of this condition by comparing the direction the encoder
reports, with the direction from my reversal timer with an xor?

Thank you.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
