Good for E. That's the exact thing that got me hooked -- that I could have desktops that didn't look sterile. No MacDonald's Happy Meal desktop. Having a desktop that didn't smack of plastic non-committal pseudo-sleekness can be a surprising relief on some of one's weaker days. It's not only a token way of saying "fuck you" to any sort of "we're one happy klean family" of korporate kare-bears", it also says "fuck you" to all the projects that try so hard to fit in with that, so hard in fact that they eliminate any sort of endearing features their projects may have had in the first place. I like my desktop dark, brooding, and with greasy metal sticking out, [http://www.azundris.com/misc/dcop.jpg], thankyou. *Especially* when surrounded by featureless KDEs. It's my on-screen Tent Of Doom [http://www.jwz.org/tent-of-doom/]. > maybe just moving to 2 themes would be good Yeah. One "crisp," and one "dark," preferably. That will show what the engine can do, in both directions -- even if people like neither of the supplied themes, they'll know that the engine can do extremes, and that whatever they want, it's not only possible with e, but there's also a real chance somebody out there has already done it. That's a good message to convey. regards, Azundris ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, 16-19 November in Las Vegas.
