To me having DM is pretty important. I typically have used ones bound to their desktop env like GDM and KDM, which KDM was dropped for SDDM. But according to KDE SDDM is their official DM. What is the official DM for E? Any? Seems to be a confusing situation. many working on different things. > The Entrance (the code done in git today) embed a full elementary + > edje implementation and done to get the minimum memory footprint when > logged (less than 100K on stack). Seems it could be reduced further like with less user stuff, etc. > It's a great news from you, because I wil not spare more time on > this code. I wasn't aware you were actively working on entrance or spending any time there. Last commits from you are years old, almost 2. > And I will broke about everything in a new code (The gui > code will not be changed or just a few). Again? You already had elsa, which become entrance. Which replaced the old entrance. Now there will be another? In addition to what others are working on? Seems like a lack of coordination or a coherent direction. Why the need to keep re-coding entirely a DM? Given one that works does not seem to exist at the moment.... I am all for improvement but should be something usable and working today. > The main things is to fix bugs. I just got it usable and now I will start to remove things, change, etc. Consolekit will be removed as its a dead project. Though likely replace with elogind vs all of systemd, if not something else. > Congrats and I will enjoy to test and help :). > Welcome to pam login session mess developper :P Thanks should be interesting, but not to worried. Dealt with pam a bit for LDAP and other stuff. Still much to learn as always but at least I have something usable now. -- William L. Thomson Jr.
