Yes come to think of it this is a better way of achieving the same result.If what you want to do is select a background then try using "Desktop Background Settings" in the right click menu.

In any event I found how the scrolling speed of menus could be altered - in a rather unexpected place imho: in the Special FX settings. Could have sworn I had seen something like that earlier but for the life of me could not remember where it was.. So I should have said I looked everywhere except the Special FX settings :-)
