I use e16.6 "together" with gnome 2.x, but this exactly means that I disabled everything of gnome except the gnome-session, the gnome-settings-daemon, gnome-smproxy and gconfd-2. It has just the use for me that very gtk-app (1&2) is themed with the theme setted in gnome. Without, some apps doesn't look as good as they should. Possibly I also could run the programs called above from directly from e but so everything works fine. I run some KDE/QT-apps and some gtk ones, it's mixed, I use the best of it all. Friedrich
