I have another question:

I know this is a bit out of scope in this Enlightenment list,
but what is the appropriate way of saving energy and maximize the life
of a CRT monitor? I know it uses less power when "off" (obviously) but
I heard it uses a lot of power when it switches on... so one shouldn't
switch off the monitor for just 10 seconds.

What is the minimum period of time the monitor should be in the
"off" state for a net energy saving? What about the "suspend" state? I
couldn't find this on Google.
