Hi folks! Under Gnome 2 I could get the same look&feel of gnome applications as under the gnome desktop by running gnome-settings-daemon at startup.
After switching to Gnome 3.2 it doesn't work anymore! The gnome applications have now the ugly look&feel of gnome standard theme. After googling I have found a partial workaround by creating a setting.ini file in ~/.config/gtk-3.0 with the following contents: ========================================== [Settings] gtk-theme-name = Adwaita #----------------------------------------- gtk-font-name = Gill Sans 10 gtk-icon-theme-name = Faenza gtk-cursor-theme-name = Shere_Khan_X #----------------------------------------- gtk-toolbar-style = GTK_TOOLBAR_ICONS #----------------------------------------- gtk-xft-hinting = 1 gtk-xft-hintstyle = hintslight gtk-xft-rgba = rgb ========================================== Now some of the applications have the same look&feel as under the gnome desktop. But applications like Firfox and Thunderbird have the ugly look&feel of standard gnome theme and the fonts are also too big! *Question* Did anyone on this list find a solution for integration of gnome applications with the usual look&feel as under the gnome desktop? Any feedback is very much appreciated? Regards Nik ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keep Your Developer Skills Current with LearnDevNow!
