Hi Richard, For Cisco (and also HP and Extreme) everything is already predefined in NetSight, if you use late 3.3.x.xx or already 4.0.0.xx version of NetSight.
Go to Inventory Manager, select a Cisco device in network view and click in the second tab "Image Information" on the right side. There you will find a section "MIB and Script Overrides". Select "Script" from the pull down menu for both, "Firmware Download MIB" and "Configuration MIB". Then select "Cisco Systems -TFTP" from the pull down menu "Device Family Definition File Name". You are all set now, use the wizards for your just configured Cisco device. Configure each other device the same way. If the Foundry devices are using same CLI syntax for Configuration/Firmware uploads/downloads, you can use Cisco settings. Otherwise you need to configure your own script for Foundry, basically simple. NetSight has a very good (online) help. For this case click on Help->Help Topics and look for Inventory Manager section, there for "How to's" and then for Third Party Integration. There it is described, how to write your own vendor scripts. Works perfect, did it already for ten other network vendors. If you experience any problems, don't hesitate to write. Sent via iPhone. I have added the Mibs for both of these vendors but have not been able to use Inventory Manager or any other part of Netsight to backup configs for these devices.
