Well I don't know. I didn't want to keep this thread going but...

Some years ago in the UK there was a court case at which evidence was
presented that EMR was being 'read', displayed and recorded from a monitor
at a financial services business from equipment set up in a panel van parked
in the road adjacent to the building (shades of Mission Impossible!).

I subsequently saw this demonstrated both on TV and as a pitch to fit
screens on monitors to reduce EMR so that this form of industrial
intellectual property stealing would not be possible. At the finance house I
was then working, they would have installed the screens except for the
extremely silly prices the vendor wanted. We decided to take our chances.

As I recall the EMR displayed was somewhat fuzzy but text could be clearly
read on screen.

As technology advances I would expect it to still be possible to detect even
small amounts of EMR given a suitable aerial array. Whether it is portable
is another matter!
