There are a few different formats for digests.  They only show up this way
if they are "MIME digests".

It's not suggesting you do it, just giving you the option.  Some people like
to append the list name to the front of each message and just leave them in
the in box.

You can make a rule to burst the digest and then manually apply it to the
message.  It works for several kinds of digests.  If that doesn't work for a
particular digest, check out the digest bursting script at
www.applescriptcentral.com.

No, there's no facility for automatically filing something after you read
