I believe we redraw messages in order to update for changes to font,
size, etc.
It's the redraw that returns the cursor to the top of the message.
I don't know if we only redraw if needed, or redraw regardless of pref
change.

I will play with this and see what the precise issue to add to our
suggestion list would be.

Well, I'm using Entourage X and couldn't resist trying this. I opened
John's message, put my cursor down in the middle of it, went to the
Prefs and didn't do anything, clicked OK and was returned to the message
window - sure enough, just as Dan experienced, my cursor had returned to
the beginning of the message. This doesn't seem like a serious bug,
since one wouldn't often open the prefs while reading a message, but it
does seem to have remained in X.
