It should  work with many selected. I used to be able to do that when I left
messages on a POP server. maybe you have to pick just the right spot? But if
you want to remove a whole boatload of messages at once, it's easier to
"allow online access" in the account's Options [page and go directly to the
server in the Folder List. Then you can just select messages and click the
Delete button or key - it doesn't delete the downloaded local copies, just
marks the messages on the server for deletion at the next connection.
