David,

I am forwarding your comments to the developer. You make some very valid
points.

Just so you know, I agree! I have suggested that they consider licensing the
software to a *person* so that person can use the software on multiple
machines. Saving that, at least go the palm software route and license the
software to a particular PocketPC (that can then be used on multiple
computers).

That IS a good point -- I am getting a bit better battery time with my 3800
series unit though :-)

I recommend it because it is the "standard" - virtually ALL software out
there is written with the iPaq in mind (point in case: PocketMac)

Also I have not had a problem with Compaq's customer service. I ordered some
stuff, did not like it, and it was cheerfully returned.

Now if you are talking about iPaq repair service I DO have a buying tip:

I bought my iPaq at Best buy - and I was talked in to buying the extended
replacement warranty - best thing I EVER did!

About 4 weeks after I bought the unit I noticed that the backlight was not
working correctly - I took it back to Best Buy and showed the guy at the PDA
section my problem & my warranty. He promptly popped open a BRAND NEW iPaq
box, took out the 3850, and exchanged it for my unit - NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Now that is my idea of customer service! Caveat: I do not know if the other
major adult toy stores offer the same deal YMMV

Agreed - that is why Compaq listened to its user base and includes a cover
and 'bumper' sides in the new models -- if I am not mistaken, earlier iPaq
users can buy the cover for @ $20 - it fits the 3600 & 3700 series as well.
