If you have files in your Deleted Items folder, then they are taking up
space in your database file. The space is not reclaimed until these items
are purged. The default is that the purge takes place when you quit
Entourage, but you may have changed it. It is not clear from your message if
you really are purging the files or not. If you have many old messages with
attachments in the Deleted Items folder then you should check your schedules
(Tools/Run Schedule/Edit Schedules). You should see an "Empty Deleted Items
Folder" schedule. Is the check box checked so the schedule can run? Is it
set to run on quit? Is the action Delete mail (double click the schedule to
see the actions associated with the rule)?
