Well, in some circumstances, that can be important....

Some time ago I received a draft contract that somebody had forgotten that
point. I planned to make some changes, so I turned on the change tracking
features, and discovered that I had an edited copy of an existing contract
whose terms made interesting reading. They had tracked the changes without
realizing it as display on screen was off. As a result, I had an existing
contract in full, and the draft the offered me. I had fun in the
negotiations...

Fast save is almost as good in many circumstances.
