When you send to a group, Entourage first resolves the separate addresses of the group members as separate To recipients. Then it checks every email address, as it always does, to make sure it's correct syntax for an email address. As far as I know that means it has to have an @ sign and a period (.) un the section coming after the @. If there's a display name, it doesn't matter what's in there except if there's punctuation, especially a period (.), then it's essential that the display name be in quotes " ". Also, if there is a display name, the email address must be in <angle brackets>. Entourage won't let you drag a contact into a group who doesn't have an email address, but perhaps there's an invalid address in one of the contacts. For non-contacts, if you type in an invalid name + email address combination, sometimes it will accept it. If you type in only a display name, no email address, it converts the name to an "email address", only it's an invalid address (no @ sign within, e.g.), I suspect that's what may have happened. Look carefully over your group to see if there's a name listed as a group member but which is not a proper email address. -- Paul Berkowitz -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
