I tried that, but was unable to change character set, even when I selected "edit message". The format menu remains grayed out. Perhaps I don't understand how to reformat the character set on received e-mail. Even so, there doesn't appear to be anything unusual in the source. I've pasted below the source information (minus the addresses) from one I received this morning which was hanging up when I tried to print. Plain text, US-ASCII - nothing unusual as far as I can tell.

Allen, if you'd like I can forward this latest problem e-mail to you to see if you get the same effect. I probably had 40 e-mails this morning, two of which were from the same person. Both of them hung Entourage when I tried to print. They were both sent from a Hotmail account. Tried printing with complex HTML turned off and turned on. No difference. Very curious.
